All Grade 6 parents of student being confirmed should have received this email. Please check your junk mail. I have posted it below just in case...
Dear Parents/guardians
Your child has registered to be confirmed on May 7th at 10am at Notre Dame Cathedral on Sussex Drive, across from the National Gallery. There will be 80 students who will need to be registered, pick up their name tags and yellow forms which they will hand in as they go forward to be confirmed by the Archbishop. Therefore you are asked to come to the Cathedral at least 30-45 minutes ahead of time.
The dress code is no jeans; normally the boys wear nice pants with a shirt and tie if they have one. The girls should wear a nice dress which shows proper reverence for the occasion and venue, so halter dresses or strapless dresses should be covered with a sweater or jacket; a skirt/dress pants and blouse is also acceptable.
All of the children will sit together with their schoolmates. After the ceremony, weather permitting, the Archbishop may call on the children to go outside, on a school by school basis, in order to be photographed as a group with him. No videos or photos will be allowed during the ceremony but you will be able to take photos of your child and their friends after the ceremony.
Also no food or drinks will be allowed in the church and we ask that all cell phones be muted before entering the Cathedral.
I would like to remind the parents whose children did not attend the retreat at St Bernard Church on March 5th that they must attend the retreat which will be held at St Leonard’s Church in Manotick on April 2nd, 2016 from 10am-4pm. Please make sure that your child brings the form which was emailed to you on March 9th. This form must be handed in and signed at the retreat and then returned to your child’s school by April 7th.
May you have a blessed Holy Week and we look forward to being part of your child’s Sacramental experience on May 7th.
